Women Build Is Here!
 More than 10,000 women are expected to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, May 4-12. Now in its sixth year, National Women Build Week challenges women to devote at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities.
On Wednesday, May 8 volunteers from San Diego County will work to rehab a home in San Ysidro for a local family in need. |

 San Diego Habitat for Humanity is honored to present the first project of its Building for the Brave program in Lakeside, CA. This undertaking will allow Habitat to serve those who have served us by providing four townhomes for affordable homeownership by disabled veterans and their families. The homes will be outfitted with state of the art finishings adapted to the special needs of the veteran.

Wounded Warriors Help Pearl Harbor Veteran Through Habitat's Repair Corps Program
 Wounded Warriors from Balboa Naval Medical Center will be joining Habitat this week, making repairs to the home of Stuart Hedley, a 92 year-old Pearl Harbor survivor.
San Diego Habitat for Humanity recently launched a program called RepairCorps, a free critical home repair program for local veterans. Repair Corps is funded through The Home Depot Foundation, and allows Habitat to utilize volunteers to make much needed health and safety improvements for local veterans free of charge!

San Diego Habitat for Humanity Teams with Green 4 Good to Recycle E-Waste
 In order to create a cleaner environment for our community, Green 4 Good and San Diego Habitat for Humanity are teaming up to host an electronic waste (e-waste) recycling collection event on Saturday, September 29th, 2012, in the parking lot located at 10405 San Diego Mission Road (across from the Habitat offices and ReStore) from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This is a drive-thru event, and our volunteers will be unloading heavy items, so participants don’t even need to get out of the car! |
