Join. Learn. Lead. AmeriCorps and Habitat - the perfect pair. San Diego Habitat for Humanity is very grateful to be a host site for the 2008-2009 AmeriCorps programs! This year, SDHFH will host five AmeriCorps National Direct team members who will help as Construction Crew Leaders and as a Family Services Associate. Through their work, SDHFH will be able to work with more volunteers and build more homes to help more families become homeowners. This year, SDHFH will also work with four AmeriCorps VISTA members who will help build capacity by working in the fields of Community and Faith Relations, ReStore, Acquisition-Rehab, and In-Kind Donations. These VISTA members will be charged with building new ties to our communities in order to permanently increase our ability to serve our community.
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs created in 1993 that engages more than 50,000 Americans each year in service in our communities. San Diego Habitat for Humanity is one of over 40 Habitat*AmeriCorps sites around the country. This year we have hired an AmeriCorps team that is dedicated to making a difference and is willing to commit a year of service to SDHFH. Our AmeriCorps members are an integral part of the San Diego affiliate and we are very proud of all they accomplish!
